HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Fireman's Relief and Pension Board - 07/01/2003 i Firemen's Relief & Pension Board July 1, 2003 Board Members Present: Jim White, Al Bond, Sam Grubbs, Brenda Jacober Others Present: Brigitte Hoopes, Bonnie Fell, Gene Grenstad, Don Fronsdahl, Gary Tilley, Iry Fleming Mayor White called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. Approval of Minutes. Bond moved to accept the minutes of the meetings of April 1 and April 15, 2003, as presented. Grubbs seconded and the motion carried. Approval of March, April and May Financial Transactions. Jacober distributed copies of the financial transactions for March, April and May 2003. Fell mentioned that in May there was a one time premium of$89,000 from the state from the tax on fire insurance premiums. Grubbs moved to accept the financial transactions. Bond seconded and the motion carried. Election Results. Jacober noted the only nominee was Al Bond and that he has agreed to serve another term. i Other Business. Grubbs stated he received a letter from the Department of Retirement Systems stating that all his military time counts under LEOFF I. Tilley questioned the report from Hillman concerning retirees receiving 1099R forms. Fell explained who receives 1099's and who doesn't. Tilley thinks a certain group should be taken out and questioned the accuracy of the City's way of paying. The Mayor said its worth checking into, and Hoopes said she had already checked with the IRS, and that is doesn't affect retired people. Adjournment.
