Firemen's Relief & Pension Board
July 6, 2004
Board Members Present: Tim Clark, AI Bond, Brenda Jacober
Others Present: Brigitte Hoopes, Bonnie Fell
Councilmember Tim Clark called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.
Approval of Minutes. Bond moved to accept the minutes of the meetings of April 6, as
presented. Jacober seconded and the motion carried.
Approval of January, February, March, April and May 2004, Financial
Transactions. Discussion of the financial transactions was deferred to the meeting of
October 5, at the request of Ms. Fell.
Election for Board Position No. 1 and Alternate — Information Only. Jacober sent
out requests for nominations for the Board position, only Sam Grubbs was nominated
and that he agreed to serve for another two years. She also noted that an alternate
from the Firefighters group needs to be chosen. Bond agreed to contact the firefighters
regarding an alternate.
LEOFF 1 Adjustments. Hoopes passed out comparison tables and explained that the
total due from the City is $57.11. Bond moved to adopt the figures as presented
updating the CPI adjustments. Jacober second and the motion carried.
Other Business. Hoopes distributed copies of the CPI history, and explained the new
survivor benefit option for retirees who change their marital status. She also noted the
difference that the City would be paying. Bond moved that all retirees be notified of the
possible benefit change to LEOFF 1 retirement should they change their marital status.
Jacober seconded and the motion carried. Hoopes agreed to provide notice.
Adjournment. Clark moved to adjourn at 3:52 p.m.
