HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Fireman's Relief and Pension Board - 05/01/2001 (3) I I Firemen' s Relief & Pension Board May 1 , 2001 Boardmembers Present : Jim White, Rico Yingling, Sam Grubbs, Gene Grenstad, Brenda Jacober Others Present : Brigitte Hoopes, John Hillman The Mayor called the meeting to order at 3 : 05 p.m. Approval of Minutes . Grubbs moved to accept the minutes of the April 3 , 2001, meeting. Grenstad seconded and the motion carried. Approval of March Financial Transactions. Hillman distributed copies of the March financial transactions . Grubbs moved to approve the March financial report . Yingling seconded and the motion carried. Meeting Schedule. Mayor White noted that this Board is required to meet monthly but that there is seldom any business to conduct . It was suggested that the monthly meetings be cancelled unless there is business to conduct other than approval of the minutes and of the financial report, although the Board would meet quarterly. After a discussion regarding when special meetings would be required if monthly meetings were not held, all agreed to continue meeting monthly, but to cancel any meetings which have no business to conduct other than approval of the minutes and of the financial report . Yingling requested that the meeting time be changed to either 3 : 30 or 3 :45 . After a brief discussion, all agreed to change the meeting time to 3 : 30 p.m. July 1 CPI Increase. Hoopes explained that the Board had chosen to use a two digit CPI figure, and noted that this year it would be 4 . 07% . She said that if one digit were used, the figure would be rounded to 4 . 1% . The Board stated that the figure to use in calculations is the two digit figure of 4 . 07% . i I i Firemen' s Relief & Pension Board May 1 , 2001 Page Two Election Notice. Jacober pointed out that Bond' s term on the Board expires on July 1st and it was determined that an election would be held by mail . Adjournment. The meeting adjourned at 3 : 21 p .m.
