Workshop — March 24, 2014
INTRODUCTION:
The update to the 2003 Downtown Design Review Guidelines (DDRG) will reflect
recent changes to the Downtown Subarea Action Plan (DSAP) and refresh the
document to ensure Downtown Kent will develop into a pedestrian-friendly, vibrant,
center for the entire community.
BACKGROUD:
The DDRG has been reviewed by staff to expand its effectiveness to a larger
downtown. The Kent Downtown Partnership — Design Committee has agreed to
review and comment on the DDRG in an effort to broaden the perspective. In
addition, review and comments were provided by the State's Department
Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP). On March 241h, staff will present for
discussion an outline of proposed revisions (see Attachment A). Additionally, the
Pedestrian Plan Overlay Map will be presented for discussion (see Attachment B).
