This work has been progressing and is scheduled to be completed later this year. As part of the original design, the City was planning to install planter islands at two locations along SE 256th between Kent-Kangley Road and 116th Ave SE. Due to the number of driveways on SE 256th Street there were limited opportunities for these islands only two were able to be included. Based on new information from local businesses west of 109th Avenue SE, staff determined that one of the islands needs to be reduced in length to ensure truck access is preserved for deliveries. If the proposed planter island is to be reduced, it should be done so at this time, as utility installation is currently underway. Budget Impact: No significant impact. 10 This page intentionally left blank. 11 PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Timothy J LaPorte P.E., Public Works Director Phone: 253-856-5500 KEN T Fax: 253-856-6500 WASH IN GTO N Address: 220 Fourth Avenue S.
