A motion from the membership to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting passed. Dave Jensen, Director of Renton City Planning Commission, discussed Rentonts Urban Comprehensive Plan, showing proposed highway development and accesses. Glen Sherwood of Kent then discussed how Kentts plans tie in with Rentonts zoning and highway use plans. President Bob Wing read a letter from Senator Magnuson concerning the need for a study by the State of Washington of water resources. Our reply to Senator Magnuson is that a survey will be made. State Senator Dirken had been contacted by John Fournier and was able to get $100,000 in the budget through a senate bill for such a water resource study. It was reported that the industrial surveys of all four communities were now com- plete and ready for printing. These will be available to include inihe promotional folder "TRAK" now being prepared by John Fournier's committee. Graphs of industrial water rate curves for the four cities prepared by Baldy Sammis were distributed. Similar graphs comparing sewer rates are to be prepared later. Warren Gonnason, Assistant County Engineer, although not able to attend, sent in the report that the County had received a letter from the Corps of Engineers stating that a new operating procedure limiting the stream flow of the Green River to 5,000 cu.ft- per second at Auburn had been adopted. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. Kenneth F. Weeks Secretary-Treasurer Those in attendance were: Phil Aspinwall Glen W. Sherwood Shannon (Pat) Hogue Harold Hagestad Norman M. Anderson Howard Bothell Steve Lone Dave Mooney Ken Weeks George C. Garris John B. The meeting, originally scheduled for Kent, cannot be held there as the City Hall is undergoing repairs for modest damage incurred during the recent earthquake. This meeting will be of unusual interest because there will be in attendance representatives of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Seattle Port Commission, and the King County Flood Control Committee to discuss a proposal concerning dredging the lower Duwamish River as a part of the Valley Drainage Plan.
