MINUTES VALLEY INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION, DECEMBER 13, 1962

President Wells McCurdy called the meeting to order at 8: 15 P. M. ,
and Minutes of the November 29th meeting were read and approved.
Legal and financial means of making the Valley Industrial Commission
a "home rule protection" body were discussed. A meeting of the four
mayors and Noel Bicknell is to be set up to discuss the matter.
Charles Baker discussed "Love and Marriage As Influenced by the Large
Cities On the Suburbia" or Coho's report. Ken Weeks summarized the
pamphlet for all present. Discussions by Wells McCurdy, Mayor Shaughnessy
Mayor Thornton, Mr. Baker, Mr. Weeks, Mr. Bicknell, Mr. Raven,
Mr. Bouldren, Mr. Aspinwall, and Mr. Sammis followed.
Shannon Hogue's letter of resignation as secretary was read. It was
moved, seconded and approved that Baldwin Sammis be Secretary of
the organization. Larry Cheetham's letter of resignation and Mr. McCurdy's
letter of acceptance of his resignation were read.
Next followed a report on the flood control meeting held at Renton,
December 13, 1962 , by Wells McCurdy. Mayor Alex Thornton, who
also attended the Renton meeting, added his impressions on the question.
Further discussion at the January meeting is scheduled.
Motion to adjourn was made by Noel Bicknell; motion seconded and the
meeting adjourned at 10:10 P.M.
