HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Planning and Economic Development Committee - 11/26/1968 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FETING NOVEMBER 26, 1968 --- 7:30 A.M. A letter was read from Mr. Don Cowles stating he and Mr. Bowen were resigning as members to the VRPC from the city of Tukwila. Mr. Bowen would be appointed as the representative for Associate Membership from the Great Northern Railway. Mr. Iverson suggested the VRPC wait until word was received from Mayor Minkler of Tukwila before taking any action on this matter. A report was given in the absense of Jan Klippert, by Mr. Hall , regarding the forthcoming December 19th General Meeting. This meeting will beheld with the six legis- lators of the Valley Area. Legislators have announced they would be pleased to attend the meeting. The Valley Regional Planning Commission is asking all members to attend and to bring their councilmen from each city. Mr. Pugh was ask to write a letter to each of the Mayors, enclosing a copy of the attendance record of all members. He is to request them to review their membership appointees and their attendance records. Mr. ,Van Hoose announced Mayor Gaines and Jack Burgeson have said they will serve on his Finance Committee . Mr. Iverson said he and Charles Baker are the representatives from his area. Mr. Klippert has been asked to appoint two members from Renton. Mr. Gould said Mr. Droke, Jack Surgeson, and Herb Vedder have been appointed to his Public Information Committee. He was also going to request Mike Sweeney of Auburn to serve. Mr. Gould also gave the time schedule set for the seminar to be held at Green River Community College. There will be six session beginning January 29, 1969 and running thru May 21st. The entire seminars fee will be $ 10.00, or $2.00 for any one particular session. Students attending the College will be admited free. Mr. Van Hoose was ask to inquire into the services of the Valley Planning and Coordinating Council and report to the Executive Board on Tusday December 2nd. Mr. Williams has postponed the interview for VRPC Coordinator until 9:00 A.M. December 3rd, after that time he will then report to the Executive Board. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 A.M.
