GENERAL MEETING
AUBURN CITY HALL --- NOVEMBER_21, 1968
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 ,P.M., in the
Auburn City Hall . The previous minutes 'were approved
as published.
It was announced that Mrs. Irwin has been.hi-red as a full
time staff secretary. Also a new job description has
been prepared for a part-time VRPC Coordinator, since the
original description had to be revised because of-budget
restrictions. Mr' -Gene Williams, Chairman of personnel
committee, will interview prospective applicants for the
position on Wednesday November 27, 1968. .:, He .wi11 present
the.:top three applicants to the Executive -Board on,;Tues-
day. December 3rd
Mr' -gave a report on the proposed Seminar. to be
; -held,at. Gree"n River Community College. He is Working
with Jan Klippert, Gordon Ericksen,-,Mr. Papr ti, Or:.Jones,
amd members of;_fhe United Good Neighbors in producing a
:very ,interesting, as well as educational seminar. The
members. will`be,kept informed as the plans proceed.
Mr. Pugh read the correspondence. A letter was -received
from Mr. RobertWing submitting his resignation from the
Valley Regional E iPlanning Commission. Mr. Bryon Sneva
has been appointed to replace Mr. Wing by.-Mayor-:Minkler
of Tukwila.
Mr. Hall has `been asked to participate as- a panelist in
a workshop on planning, by the League of.Women' Voters in
Kiang County. This will be held Janurary 14, 1969.
Mr. Joe Lightfoot, Chief Clerk, of the Boundary Review
Board was the Guest Speaker of the evening.- He presented
a set of maps of the Water, Sewer, and tire Districts of
the VRPC area to be kept on file in the VRPC office. He
discussed gome of the different areas in which the Boundary
Review Board is involved. The question was asked why VRPC
coundn't make a resolution, and follow through on straight-
ening out boundaries between cities where mutual agreement
has been reached. As an example the mutual boundaries
of Tukwila and Renton in the south end. Mr. Lightfoot
suggested the resolution should be drawn up ahead of time
and be ready to be presented at the proper time. A com-
mittee was formed to investigate and draw up a resolution,
to be submitted to the proper authority. Mr. Noel Bicknell,
was appointed Chairman of this committee, and Mr. Burgeson,
Mr, Mooney, Mr. McGarigle, and Mr. Bowen were asked to
serve on this committee. The first committee meeting will
be held in the VRPC office at 7:30 Wednesday A.M. Nov. 27th,
Mr. Iverson said the Finance Committee has not been
completed, and if one of the members is approached to
serve on this committee, please cooperate by doing so.
The General Meeting will be held December 19, 1968 at the
Kent City Hall -- 7:30 P.M. SHARP -- Meeting adjourned
at 9:30 P.M. SHARP.
