Correspondence was read by Mr. Iverson and a letter was sent to the City of Auburn, with a request for $ 1 ,000.00 advance from their budget contribution to the VRPC, for the year of 1969. This advance funding would enable the Valley Regional Planning Commission to continue operating sufficently through the remainder of 1968. It was requested by the Executive Committee, to appoint two more Vice- Presidents and a Treasurer. A motion was made and passed to have it read into the by- laws, that each office should be filled by a member from each individual city. Gordon Gould, of Algona, was appointed 2nd Vice- President; Dave Van Hoose, of Auburn, was appointed 3rd Vice-President , and Francis Pugh, of Pacific was appointed Treasurer. Jan Klippert announced, it was just one year ago, the VRPC hired a part-time secretary. In the past year, the VRPC has been able to establish a fully furnished office, including office machines, established a filing, account- ing, and bookkeeping system; began a large mapping program; started a library; increased the membership of VRPC, as well as beginning an Associate Membership program; had a conference in the spring of 1968, whisk was highly success- ful ; and completed several studies which are of interest to the member cities and other interested persons in the Valley. - 1- It was established the Executive Committee would meet once a week instead of their usual once a month. This will enable them to provide a better working function and follow through of designated projects. Mr. Sammis made a motion for the following to be one of the first items to be completed as soon as possible . I . Completion and update utility charts - water and sewer lines within a one mile radius of each city. 2. Review the road and highway situation f6r -a one mile area within the city limits of each city . 3. Review the compatiblity of zoning within one mile of the city limits of each city and in the county. This was agreed by all members, to be one of the projects to be undertaken as soon as possible, however it was felt at the present time, to allow the Planning Consultant, who is to be hired, to decide for himself just what would be the first project to be undertaken.
