HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Planning and Economic Development Committee - 12/20/1969 i VALLEY REGIONAL PLANNING COMKISSION EXECUTIVE MEETING - -)ECEM3ER 20, 1969 PRESENT: GORDON HALL', IRV IVERSO+I, FRANCIS PUGH AND GORDON GOULD Gordon Gould presented an outline of a report describing the VRPC. The board gave approval for him to complete the report. This approval included Don Eide who had seen the report before and sent a positive proxy vote`► The deadline for comple- tion is the first week in January. After much discussion on how to utilize staff more efficently and take some of the presure off of the board members it moved, seconded and passed unanamously that : "The staff assistant, Gordon Gould, be directly responsible to the 3oard of Directors w for the office activities, including the secretary, Mrs. Irwin." The board requested that Gordon Gould request from ^Jashington Utilities and Transportation Commission, a transcript of their public meeting where they discussed rail crossings T-3 and T-g► Also, the board wanted a letter sent to the County, Auburn, and the citizens committee on the gravel problem, requesting all the data they can send. Francis Pugh is going to contact industry. The budget for 1970 was discussed and it was established that we do the following : 1 . Complete the discription of VRPC . 2. Prepare a program for 1970. 3. Have an Executive Meeting on December 30, 1J69, to discuss the two items above. 4. Meet with Renton' s ',days and Means Committee . 5. Meet with each Mayor and Council of all the member cities and present program and request for their discussion; Gordon Gould submitted his resignation from his position on the 3oard as Secretary. The reason being: That the time the board position requires in beginning to interfere with his work as a staff assistant to the organization, and his work as a student at the University of '4ashington. As a Councilman from Algona, he will still remain a regular member of VRPC. Submitted by Gordon Gould
