HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Planning and Economic Development Committee - 03/25/1969 VALLEY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING DATE : MARCH 25, 1969 TIME : 5:30 P.M. PLACE : V R P C OFFICE ATTENDING : GORDON HALL, GORDON GOULD, IRV IVERSON Mr. Hall has asked the Vocational School Directors of Kent, Renton, and Federal Way to participate in the general meeting to be held at Auburn City Hall on March 27th. They will discuss the need of Vocational classes as well as present and future funding of them Gordon Gould, who has been hired to work between 16 and 20 hours a week for the Valley Regional Planning Commission, has been obtaining information from the University of Washington Library for our files. He has been requested to prepare a weekly report as to the amount of hours he has worked, as well as when, who he met with, and where. This report will be pre- sented each week to the Executive Board. Gordon Gould volunteered to attend the Planning Association of Washington meeting in Richland, Washington. This will be held April 11th and 12th. He will be attending as a member of the VRPC as well as a member of Algona Council . VRPC has agreed to pay half his expenses, if Algona will contribute half. Page 2 Don Cowles of the Great Northern Railway, has contacted VRPC to let them know, his company will be more than happy to cooporate with the VRPC in making the railroad crossing safety study. They would like to work with Mr. Cottingham, the Consultant and assist the Valley Regional Planning Commission in any way they can, It was agreed that VRPC funding at the present time, would not allow the beginning of Rudi Gast ' s proposal . Perhaps at a later date. Every effort, for proper representation, from all member cities has been asked, ALL members from each city are asked to attend each general meeting. The Tukwila-Kent Boundary. Committee will meet March 31st at 8:00 P.M, in the Kent City Hall . Executive Committee meetings have been changed to every other Thursday evening at 5 :30.
