Railway Crossing Safety Study: Mr. Joe Street, Kent Administrator,
has met with the Traffic Safety Commission Office in Olympia,
regarding the application for a Railroad Crossing Study presented
by the Valley Regional Planning Commission. The Commission will
assign a person to work with us, when we have indicated we have
hired a Consulting Engineer to work for
us on this Two firms were under consideration. ung-
ineered Industrial Systems, Inc. , was selected after careful
/ consideration. Mr. Ken Cottingham will be the Consulting Engineer.
Gordon Hall will be the Project Director . Gordon Gould has beenr
hired;, to work about fifteen hours a week on this study. This
study will be held over a one year to one and half year period.
A motion was made,jto' proceed with the project as rapidly
as possiblel< Ken Cottingham felt the final applications could
be ready for signing by the March 15th deadline. This will be
presented to the Mayors at the meeting to be held in the VRPC
Office on March l3th at 4:30 P.M.
