EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
JANUARY 7, 1969 -- VRPC OFFICE -- KENT, WASHINGTON
Attending were: Gordon Hall , Jan Klippert, Iry Iverson,
Francis Pugh, Dave Van Hoose, Gordon Gould, Baldwin Sammis
and Ron Thompson.
A brief report was given on the progress of the Seminar to
be held at the Green River Community College beginning the
latter part of January. The brochures were to be printed
and mailed by the end of this week. (Jan. 10th) Mr. Hall
said all planning departments of the member cities should
be contacted to suggest all members attend, if possible.
Jan Klippert announced he had several program ideas for
the months to come. The January General meeting will
take place on Wednesday January 22nd, at the Puget Sound
Governmental Conference Office in Seattle. Einar Syvertsen
and Robert McAbee will also attend to discuss with the VRPC
the various studies the PSGC have made and other subjects
the VRPC may be interested in in the future.
The Feburary general meeting will have as Guest Speaker,
Larry Coffman, Executive Coordinator of Rapid Transit.
A concern was expressed over the Flood Control situation
thourghout the Valley area. This was felt to be one of the
main items the VRPC should be working on for better conditions
of control . It was agreed the VRPC should try to work with
the Forward Thrust regarding the Flood Control Issue.
Ron Thompson, VRPC Coordinator, gave a brief report on some
of the objectivies he planned for the VRPC in the future.
It was also suggested a letter should be written to all
Associate Members, stating how they could participate more
fully in the Valley Regional Planning Commission and their
plans for the future.
Baldwin Sammis was asked to serve on the Finance Committee
along with Dave Van Hoose, Jack Burgeson, Iry Iverson,
Charles Baker and Dave Mooney.
The next Executive Committee Meeting will be held January
14th at the VRPC office -- 7:30 A.M.
