OFFICERS: City Attorney P. Stephen DiJulio, General Counsel

BROTHERTON-PLEAS APPLICATION
It was noted that the purpose of the meeting was to consider an application
from Brotherton-Pleas in the amount of $1 ,200,000. Joe Brotherton explained
that he and Riley Pleas owned the Seaport Steel Building located at 22445 76th
Avenue South, consisting of 94,000 square feet, plus an additional 5,000
square feet in office space on approximately seven acres. He noted that the
Robbins Company had leased their existing facility to the Boeing Company and
will now lease the Brotherton-Pleas facility, subject to approximately
$1 ,000,000 in improvements to be made by Brotherton-Pleas.
Brotherton briefly described the Robbins Company business as manufacturing and
assembly of mining and drilling equipment. Upon Power's question, it was
determined that the Brotherton-Pleas building was equipped with cranes.
Brotherton noted that it was anticipated that the Robbins Company would be
moved and in operation by early or mid-summer.
Resolution 1985-19, determining to sell bonds to provide funds to finance an
industrial development facility for Brotherton-Pleas and its lessee, the
Robbins Company, was introduced. Biteman moved to adopt the resolution,
Powers seconded, the motion carried.
UPDATE ON ALASKAN FREIGHT CONSOLIDATORS APPLICATION
DiJulio noted that there had been no further progress on this application
because of financing arrangements and that the proposed project may be
abandoned.
