Economic Development Corporation
September 20, 1994
The annual meeting of the Kent Economic Development Corporation was
called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Boardmember Woods. Present:
Boardmembers Houser and Banister, City Attorney Lubovich,
Finance Division Manager Miller, and EDC Secretary Jacober.
Approval of Minutes. Houser moved that the minutes of September
27, 1993, February 18, 1994, and March 15, 1994, be approved.
Banister seconded and the motion carried.
Election of officers. Woods noted that officers for 1993-94 were:
Jon Johnson, Chairman, Morgan Llewellyn, Vice -Chairman, John
Hillman, Treasurer, and Brenda Jacober, Secretary. Houser moved
to retain the same officers for 1994-95. Banister seconded and the
motion carried.
Financial Report. Miller distributed copies of the revenues and
expenditures through August. She pointed out that the total
revenue received was $5,592, and the total expenditures were
$7,972. She added that $25,000 has been budgeted for the Kent
Chamber International Trade Program, which will be held next
month. She noted that the balance in the fund is $57,173, but
that it will be lower after expenses are paid. She estimated a
preliminary 1995 budget of approximately the same revenues and
expenditures, and noted that $25,000 is included for the Chamber's
Trade Show. She pointed out that if the Trade Show funding is
included in each budget, next year the balance will be approxi-
mately $30,000 and the following year it will be approximately
$13,000.
Banister moved to approve the budget, Houser seconded. The motion
carried.
Adjournment. There was no further business and the meeting
adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
