KENT'S 1988 PROPOSED HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
PROGRAM
Lin Ball presented the staff's recommendation for the 1988 H&CD Block
Grant program of $182 ,785. The 1988 program year is six months long in
order to prepare for a 12-month calendar year program beginning January
11 1989. Because of this, there are some extra, one-time only funds
available. The Human Services portion of the program is being
recommended by the Human Services Commission. Lin presented a revised
chart of the recommended human services funding.
Lin Ball clarified for Councilman Dowell that these CDBG funds
recommended for human services are in addition to funding recommended
through the General Fund. Mary Eckfeldt added that the Human Services
Commission in their consideration of applications looked at total funds
available through both CDBG and General Fund.
The committee considered each program recommended for funding and
unanimously approved recommendation to Council of the CDBG program as
outlined by staff.
