PLANNING COMMITTEE MEMBERS

SUBJECT: #ZCA -99-2 OFF-PREMISE SIGNS ZONING CODE AMENDMENT
In response to the request by the Public Works and Planning Committee, the off-premise
sign code amendment has been placed on the agenda. The purpose of this item is to set
a date for a public hearing as decided by the Public Works and Planning Committee
during its meeting of August 16, 1999. Due to the requirement for public notice time as
well as for writing the staff report, staffs recommendation for hearing options are as
follows:
1. Schedule the public hearing for October 4, 1999, the first regular Committee
meeting date in October; or,
2. Schedule a special public hearing date between September 22 and October 4,
1999.
Please note that the billboard moratorium is due to expire at midnight October 17, 1999.
Staff from the Planning Department will be prepared to present this issue and answer
questions at the September 8, 1999 meeting. If you have any questions prior to the
