HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Planning and Economic Development Committee - 05/10/1966 RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE KENT CITY COUNCIL FROM THE KENT PLANNING COMMISSION Stephanus Rezone from R-3 to R-4 That the Planning Commission recommend to the Kent City Council that the application filed by Paul and Barbara Stephanus requesting a zoning classification change from R-3 to R-4 not be approved for reason that the Planning Commission believes that a R-4 zoning of this area would not be consistent with the comprehensive plan and would not be suitable to the existing topography and further believes that the proposed utilization of the property would intensify traffic problems in the area and that the approval of such a rezone would not be in the best interests of the health and welfare of the citizens of the City of Kent. Midway Associates Rezone from R-1 to C-3 That the Planning Commission recommend to the Kent City Council that the application filed by Midway Associates for a change of zoning to C-3 b . d niel_ This recommendation is made for reason that the Plan- ning Commission believes that the requested C-3 zoning would not be compatible with surrounding zonings. The Planning Commission further recommends that the subject property be considered for a R-4 zoning in lieu of the requested C-3, for reason that: (1) That such a zoning would be compatible with the comprehensive zoning ordinances and would act as a buffer zone between adjacent C-3 and R-1 zones. (2) That the planned development appears to be the most benefic- ial use of the property, due to the topography thereof. (3) That the recommendation here made is made for reason that the Planning Commission believes that such action would be in the best interests of the health and welfare of the citizens of the City of Kent. Burke rezone from M-1 to C-3 That the Planning Commission recommend to the Kent City Council the approval of the application of Thomas J. Burke for a change of zoning from M-1 to C-3 for reason that the Planning Commission believes such action would be in the best interests of the health and welfare of the citizens of the City of Kent. Final Plats The Planning Commission recommended, by motion, the Council's acceptance of the following final plats : Green Valley Heights #4 Cambridge #4 Wynwood Park Kentwood Glen #Z The foregoing recommendations were all duly made by motion, seconded and carried when a vote was taken at the May 10, 1966 meeting of the Kent Planning Commission. airman Secretary
