PLANNING COMMISSION
August 24, 196o
Meeting called to order 7:40 P.M.
Chairman Ed Sipe presiding.
Members present: Kennedy, Frazier, Anderson, Turner, and Bogard.
Exofficio members: Asst. Engineer, Dent,. and Wilke.
The minutes of the previous meeting were corrected in regard to the
Maclyn plat. The motion should read "The 5 foot strip will be with
the unplatted area".
Turner moved to accept the minutes as corrected'. 2nd by Bogard.
Motion carried.
A letter was read from the City Attorney regarding the Maclyn plat
stating that he is in receipt of a statutory warranty deed from Mr
and Pairs Boyker to Mr & Mrs Williams eliminating the 5 foot strip.
The budget was discussed.
Kennedy moved, 2nd by Anderson to recommend to the City Council a
budget of: ,t1,000.00 for general fund
2,000.00 for consulting services if needed.
1,200.00 for secretary of Planning Commission and Board
of adjustments if necessary.
500.00 for maps and printing.

Motion carried.
The Asst, Engineer presented the Pierce plat for study stating that
the engineer's office had not had time to check it but thought we
might want to study it.
The Livestock Auction Sales Yard was discussed.
Kennedy moved that we recess all meetings until the City Council has
properly adopted a Comprehensive Plan, a Zoning Ordinance and a
Zoning map so that we have a legal instrument with which to work.
2nd by Bogard. Motion Carried.
Kennedy moved to ask the City Council to direst the City Attorney
to attend all Planning Commission meetings. 2nd by Anderson.
Motion Carried.
Regular meting recessed for a public hearing.
Public hearing called at 8:12 P.M.
The Chairman stated that the public hearing had been called to
consider zoning in an unzoned area. Therefore, he felt that we didn't
have a legal right to act on this request.
Turner moved, 2nd by Bogard to close the public hearing. Motion Carrie(
Carried.
Regular meeting reopened.
Turner moved, We decline to act on the zoning request until the City
Council has provided us with a legal instrument. 2nd by Bogard.
Motion Carried.
Kennedy moved, 2nd by Turner to adjourn.
