Meeting called to order 7 :35 P.M.
Ed Sipe presiding.
Members present: Frazier, Wieser, Kennedy, Strain, Turner and
Bicknell.
Exofficio 4xembers : Sherwood and Wilke.
Minutes of previous meeting approved as printed.
Frazier raised the question if an amendment to ordinance #1071 is
proper to designate the present trailer courts as KHR on our zoning
map. The City Attorney was absent due to illness therefore this
question would be taken up with him at a latter date.
iennedy gave a report on the proposed trailer ordinance. He has tak,.;
i -- to the Chamber of Commerce where it was approved.
The Chairman stated that while the old ordinance was a police ordin -
uncu it must be repealed and it was decided that a part of the old
ordinance should be included regarding consent to occupy a trailer
fc,- 24 or 48 hours by first getting consent from the Building
'LI!6pector and property owner.
Sherwood questioned the size of a travel trailer lot when the State
Law s-ts a minimum of 1200 sq. ft. Refer this to City Attorney. Also
Sec . 4.02.19 Play Area: Should read a minimum of 2000 Sq. Ft. up to
50 trailer lots and 40 sq. ft. additional for each lot over 50.
Frazier asked if Section 7 .00 is in conflict with ordinance # 1071?
Turner moved, 2nd by Wieser to table the trailer court ordinance
until it has been studied by thy; City Attorney. Motion carried.
Mr. Sleeman stated that he had an opportunity to put a
shopping cent,-,r with service station on hj.q property at
shopping P:iilitary and 250th. It is now zoned C-1 which does not
canter at allow a service station. His client will not accept the
Military grocery store and drub store without the service station
and 250th and vita versa. They are willing to guarantee this will
be constructed as a package deal. The Chairman said that
this could be handled two ways : 1st. by rezoning to C-P
which he was afraid would not be desirable or, we could
amend the conditional exceptions in a C-1 zone. A
discussion followed.
A motion was made by Turner to recommend to the City
Council the condtional exceptions for a C-1 zone be
change to .allow a service station when in cin,juctior w—'1.
a shopping center but they must be constructed together
or the service station to follow. 2nd by Wieser.
Motion carried.
';illc^ stated that ordinance #1071 does not require surfacing on
pr.rking lots . He felt it should be the same as our old ordinance .
Turner moved we so recommed to the City Council ref. Sec . 3 .10.40 .
2nd by Wieser. Motion carried.

Howard Higgins presented a problem. He owns one 6o ft.
Higgins lot west of the proposed freeway south of West Meeker.
request It is now zoned M-1. It was the original intent of the
Planning Commission the proposed freeway should be the
dividing line of these two zones . Therefore, this should
be C-3.
Kennedy moved to table until we could get an opinion
from the City Attorney. 2nd by Wieser. Motion carried.
Remocle Mr. Henning asked if the Assembly of God Church could

God Church. the same block. This was referred to the City Engineer.
The Chairman reported that the City Council wanted sidewalks and play-
fields incorporated in the new plating ordinance.
Lone Cedar Sherwood presented the Lone Cedar Tree Addition plat.
Tree Add. It is in an M-1 zone.
Plat. Frazier moved to instruct the City Engineer to return
the plat to the applicant advising him of the reasons
and pointing out that he could ask for a rezone .
2nd by Bicknell. Motion carried.
Frazier reported that he had attended King County Planning Commission
meeting and it is their policy not to allow shopping centers closer
L"han a mile apart and then the population must be quite dense .
Strain moved, 2nd by Kennedy to adjourn.
