Kent Springs Transmission Main III Condemnation Ordinance
Wickstrom explained that this is the last phase of our Transmission Main Rebuild project.
There are two parcels presently in negotiations but may need to be condemned and we
are asking for authorization to condemn. Wickstrom noted that these parcels are near
Lake Sawyer.
A short discussion followed regarding the procedures on negotiations.
Committee unanimously recommended that Council direct the City Attorney to prepare an
Ordinance for condemnation.
King County Agreement - Special Events/Recycling
Wickstrom stated that this is a special event that is offered twice a year (Spring and Fall)
for household hazardous waste collection and is funded by King County.
Committee unanimously recommended authorization for the Mayor to sign the Agreement
with King County for two city wide household hazardous waste collection and recycling
events and authorize the establishment of a budget for same.
FEMA Floodplain Map Update
Wickstrom explained that occasionally, FEMA updates their maps and this time they
updated it by a coordinating system they used in Virginia along with their insurance, which
correlates with the flood insurance in the floodplain. We are required to adopt their
updated map by May 16th. Wickstrom stated that we need to amend the existing
Ordinance adopting their latest map.
