Present: Bryan Shira, Brad Dupleich, R.C. Ellis, Barbara Keohane,
and Lori Brown
FINANCE
Incident: Employee crossed legs, swiveled in a chair and
scraped a knee on a metal plate that was protruding
from the desk.
Comments: The employee was sitting at a new desk for the first
time, therefore, the Committee felt that this injury
was non-preventable. The Committee also recommended
that if there were other similar sharp plates on
desks in the office, they should be filed down.
PARKS
Incident: Employee was unable to unlock second half of double
gate and attempted to drive through a single gate.
Passenger side of the car was dented.
Comments: The Committee felt that this was a preventable
accident. The employee should not have attempted
to drive through the gate knowing that there was
inadequate room for the car.
PARKS
Incident: Employee reached out for a pallet while kneeling and
sprained back.
Comments: This injury was determined to be non-preventable.
The plants were not heavy and the employee was using
proper lifting procedures under the circumstances.
POLICE
Incident: Officer slipped on wet grass while running to the
aide of another officer.
Comments: The Committee found this to be a non-preventable
injury, attributable to the hazardous nature of
police work.

POLICE
Incident: Officer twisted an ankle while running around to
the rear of a building in an attempt to enter the
premises.
Comments: This accident was also considered to be non-
preventable, due to the nature of police work.
