The King County Road Services Division has available staff to complete work that the City of Kent could perform on its own; however, the City has already programmed its workload for the 2007 construction season. The Lake Fenwick Grass Carp Screen project will design, construct and install a fish barrier in the Lake Fenwick outlet channel to keep introduced grass carp from exiting the Lake. Lake Fenwick will be stocked with sterile grass carp in 2008 to reduce or eliminate aggressive non-native weeks that have overtaken the bottom of the lake and impacted water quality and wildlife habitat. Summary: This amendment to the existing interagency agreement will allow the City of Kent to contract with the King County Road Services to perform work on the Lake Fenwick Grass Carp Screen Project (estimated cost $25,930). Recommendations: Recommend authorizing the supplement to the King County interagency agreement approved on March 15, 2005 to include the Lake Fenwick Grass Carp Screen project in an amount not to exceed $25,930, upon concurrence of the language therein by the City Attorney and Public Works Director.
