PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
November 14, 2006
COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Bob O'Brien, Les Thomas, and Ron Harmon, Chair
• The meeting was called to order by Chair Ron Harmon at 5 00 PM
1. Approval of Minutes
Les Thomas moved to approve the minutes of the October 10,2006 meeting.
The motion was seconded by Bob O'Brien and passed 3-0.
2. King County Community Organizing Program mini-grant—ACCEPT
Chuck Miller, Deputy Chief of Police, explained the proposed use of funds
Bob O'Brien moved to recommend that Council accept the King County Community
Organizing Program mini-grant in the amount of$1,500.00 and place this on the Consent
Calendar of the November 21,2006 Council Meeting.
The motion was seconded by Les Thomas and passed 3-0.
3. First Amendment to Corrections Facility Medical Services Agreement with Occupational Heal
Services—APPROVE and AUTHORIZE
Deputy Chief Chuck Miller and Deputy City Attorney Pat Fitzpatrick explained the purpose of the
amendment
Les Thomas moved to recommend that this item be placed on the Consent Calendar of the
November 21,2006 Council Meeting authorizing the Mayor to sign the First Amendment to
Corrections Facility Medical Services Agreement with Valley Medical Center Occupational
Health Services (OHS).
The motion was seconded by Bob O'Brien and passed 3-0.
4. Off-Duty Policy for Police Officers—INFO ONLY
Deputy Chief Chuck Miller explained the off-duty policy for Kent Police Officers
The meeting adjourned at 5:25 PM.
