CATHERINE HERE ARE THE TWO ADDITIONAL AGENDA ITEMS FOR CIVIL SERVICE. I
LEFT A MESSAGE ON YOUR E-MAIL.
1. POLICE REQUEST THAT WE TAKE 80 PLUS TIES TO ORAL BOARDS. THIS WOULD
•MEAN HAVING 3 ORAL BOARDS GOING ON AT THE SAME TIME. YOU WOULD NEED
TWO ASSISTANTS TO MONITOR BOARDS AND I WOULD NEED TWO ASSISTANTS TO
AID ALSO. THE SIXTY PLUS TIES WOULD COME FROM THOSE THAT PASS THE
• PHYSICAL AGILITY.
2. POLICE REQUEST A NEW RULE THAT WOULD ALLOW REVERSION RIGHTS TO LAST
HELD CIVIL SERVICE POSITION FOR EMPLOYEES THAT ARE SELECTED AS CHIEF
FROM A CURRENTLY HELD CIVIL SERVICE POSITION.
THANK YOU

RIWding Item 1.
I have no objection to taking 80 plus ties on to the Oral Boards for Entry
Level Police Officer.
As Civil Service Examiner, my recommendation is that we have one
Oral Board and run the Interviews for two weeks thus maintaining the integrity
of the Selection process, keeping costs down and lessening the opportunities to
Appeal our Selection Process.
I am curious why you would want to take 80 people on to the Oral Boards when
at present we don't make it through our Eligibility Lists before they expire.
As you are aware, (with the Rule of Three) candidates who you do not wish to
hire would have to be removed from the list and certified letters sent to them
informing them of the reasons for removal. They do have the right to appeal
their removal.
I don't know if its possible, but I would greatly appreciate having some input
when items regarding the testing come up.
Catherine
