SUBJ: VSRB REVIEW ACCIDENT LT BURKE

The attached info reflects the findings of the VSRB board with
regards to Lt . Burke' s auto accident . I have checked the accident
records back to 1988 and I find no accidents attributed to Lt .
Burke, however I did an internal investigation in the summer of
1991 and allegations of a cover up involving vehicle damage was
alleged involving Lt . Burke . He was backing the corrections van
and bumped a wall, not realizing that he had done so according to
him. Later damage was discovered and attributed to Lt . Burke,
Captain Byerly chose to take no action.
• Once you have reviewed the recommendations by the VSRB you by
policy forward this information to Chief Crawford for final
disposition with your recommendations .
