Dennis Byerly, lent Police Department SUBJECT: Kent Police Corrections Facility Selection Process At the Kent Civil Service meeting on 9/21/89, authorization was given to commence a selection process for four (4) vacant positions with Kent Corrections Facility. Notices to this effect were published in local newspapers. In addition, announcements were mailed to approximately 700 individuals and organizations. The opening date was 9/25/89 and the closing date was 10/6/89. We have received 155 applications. Eight applications were from out of state. On October 21st, we will conduct a written exam followed by a health assessment (physical agility) . Those successful candidates with a score of 70% or greater, may move to an oral board on 9/25 and 9/26/89. Attached is a list of questions and dimensions that we will be evaluating/measuring in this oral board. The remaining steps in the selection process are: polygraph exam, psychological, medical, background, and interview with the Chief of Police.
