March 6, 1981
This special meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. at Fire Station Headquarters
by Chairman T. Richard Hied. Present were: Commission member'Donald Whitener,
Interim Chief Freelove and Assistant Chief Berg.
Assistant Chief Berg reported on the Captain's examination which was held on Febru-
ary 25 and 26. He related that the candidates were tested in five areas: problem
solving, tactics, personnel problems, public speaking and in-basket exercises. He
felt it was a very good examination which covered every aspect of the'position. It
was moved and seconded to certify the Eligibility List for Fire Captain as submitted:
Albert Bond
Steven Svenvold
William R. Lahore
Dale Robertson
Scott Barnes
Gary Tilley
Steven Barber
John Henkel
Motion carried.
Secretary reported that the refund check for $68.25 from IPMA for returned unused
Firefighter tests was submitted to the Finance Department.
• It was noted by the Secretary that psychological tests are already covered under
Rule X, Section 1, "Examination Methods", which would include both departments.
Interim Chief Freelove stated he would check to see if there are any conflicts.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 a.m.
