HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Civil Services Commission - 04/18/1980 KENT CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES June 4, 1980 • The special meeting of June 4 was called to order by Chairman T. Richard Ried at 8:00 a.m. at the Police Department. Present were: Commissioners Whitener and Yahn and Chief Skewes. The meeting went into executive session. When the meeting resumed, a motion was made and seconded to remove Aubrey A. Smith from the Law Enforcement Eligibility List based on the background information that has been made available to the Commission. Motion carried. A motion was made and seconded to remove Montie R. Mount from the Law En- forcement Officer Eligibility List based on background information that has been made available to the Commission. Motion carried. A motion was made and seconded that Randall A. Houser will remain on the Law Enforcement Officer Eligibility List pending information from the applicant. Motion carried. Chief Skewes requested another examination for entrance level officers so that active recruitment can begin. A motion was made and seconded to authorize an examination and receive applications. Motion carried. The letter from the candidates for the Sergeant's examination, dated June 2, 1980, • was read. A motion was made and seconded to formalize the telephone poll con- ducted by the Secretary and Chief Examiner on June 2, 1980 to postpone the Ser- geant's examination, which is now scheduled for June 23 and 24. Motion carried. The letter from B.L. Hoover regarding his resignation effective February 25, 1980 was read. A motion was made and seconded to accept the letter into the records. Motion carried.
