Special meeting of April 29, 1980
This special meeting was called to order by Chairman T. Richard Ried at the
Police Department. In attendance were: Commissioners Donald Whitener and
Terry Yahn, and Chief Skewes. Deputy Chief Freelove made a brief appearance.
The letter from J. H. Juchmes requesting his name be removed from the Law
Enforcement Eligibility List was read. A motion was made and seconded the
letter be made a part of the record and that James H. Juchmes be removed from
the Law Enforcement Eligibility List. Motion carried.
Chief Skewes recommended the following names be removed from the current
Law Enforcement Eligibility List for the reasons given:
David E. Pennington, failed background
Phillip B. Chiba, failed oral board
Evelyn D. Hager, no show, p.a.
Dana P. Smith, failed oral board
Donald C. Burnett, no show, p.a.
George A. Viste, failed oral board
Margo L. Thompson, withdrew, p.a.
David M. Claeys, failed background
Patricia A. Gruger, no show, p.a.

A motion was made and seconded to remove the preceding names from the
current Eligibility List as recommended by Chief Skewes, based on the re-
suLts of the oral board, polygraph examination and psychological testing.
Motion carried.
The Letter from Gary A. Forrest, requesting a copy of his complete file and
minutes of the February Commission meeting, was read. A motion was made
and seconded to accept the letter into the records and refer the matter to the
City Attorney for proper action. Motion carried.
The letter from Michael Somerville has been referred to Chief Foster and
Deputy Chief Freelove. This matter will be discussed at our next regular
• meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
