November 9, 1979
The special meeting was called to order by Acting Chairman Donald Whitener.
Present were: Commissioner T. Richard Ried, Chief Skewes and Dr. David H.
Smith.
The minutes of the meeting of October 25 , 1979 were approved.
Chief Skewes reported on the results of the recently administered Law Enforce-
ment examination. He reported that the oral board is scheduled for November 16,
the polygraph examination on November 19 and Dr. Smith's psychological exami-
nation on November 20th. The top five candidates on the Eligibility List will
appear before the oral board. A motion was made and seconded to certify the
Law Enforcement Officer Eligibility List as prepared by the Secretary. Motion
carried.
Dr. Smith gave a description of the Task Force on Assessment Center Standards
and explanation of the Dimensions of Police Captain Effectiveness and Assessment
Center Exercises. A motion was made and seconded to approve the assessment
center procedures as presented by Dr. Smith. Motion carried.

Jr. is to be made a part of the record and the information requested to be sent
to the attorney.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:45 a.m.
