November, 6, 1978
The monthly meeting of the Kent Civil Service Commission was called to order
by Chairman Norwood Cunningham at the Police Department. Also in attendance
were: Commissioners Dick Ried and Don Whitener, Chief Skewes, Chief Foster,
Lieutenant Boudreau and Dr. David H. Smith.
The minutes of the October 12, 1978 meeting were approved.
Chief Skewes reported on the regional testing program of the King County
Sheriffs and Police Chiefs Association and invited the Commissioners to a
meeting to be held on November 16, 1978 at 7:00 p.m, in the Council Chambers.
The meeting then went into an executive session to discuss personnel problems
and solutions.
A motion was made and seconded to certify the Eligibility List for Police Ser-
geant. Motion carried unanimously.
A copy of a memorandum from Chief Skewes to Officer James M. Miller was
read and accepted by the Commission. The memorandum concerned Officer
Millers on-duty accident.
The letter from the King County Civil Service Commission concerning the
• appointment of Mr. Roger H. Davis as its Executive Secretary and Chief
Examiner was read and accepted by the Commission.
Chief Foster requested a new Firefighter examination. He and the Secretary
were instructed to proceed on working on an examination.
A motion was made and seconded to discuss at the Next meeting an inclusion
of performance evaluation in the scorings for employee promotions. We invite
imput from the Guilds. Motion carried.
The next meeting date is December 14, 1978 at 8:00 a.m. at the Fire Station
Headquarters.
Meeting adjourned.
