October 12, 1978
The regular meeting of the Kent Civil Service Commission was called to
order by Commissioner Don Whitener at the Fire Station Headquarters.
In attendance were: Commissioner T. Richard Ried, Chief Foster, Deputy
Chief Freelove and Lieutenant Boudreau.
The minutes of the September 21, 1978 meeting were approved.
Chief Foster reported that Arnie Bryant is on disability pension at the present
time and will be until the end of the year.
Chief Foster also discussed the matter of firefighters working outside of
Civil Service classification. He also reported that he is requesting three
more people in his budget.
Lieutenant Boudreau reported on the completion of the scoring of the written,
oral interview and resume' portions of the Sergeants' examination, with the
psychological interview remaining to be completed. A motion was made and
seconded to approve the Eligibility List of the top four candidates established
at this time and the other four applicants to remain on record. Motion carried.
Lieutenant Boudreau's letters of September 28 and 29 in regard to the employ-
ment of Robert M. Boone, Andrew J. Melluzzo, DonaldR. Winters and LynnR.
Britton, effective October 21, 1978, were read. Candidates Boone, Melluzzo,
and Britton qualify for Patrolman C-1 classification and Mr. Winters will be-
gin as Probationary Patrolman.
Lt. Boudreau presented a questionnaire prepared by Chief Skewes to be used
for the regional and state level testing program under the jurisdiction of the
King County Sheriffs and Police Chiefs Association, which was approved by
the Commission.
The next meeting is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. , November 6, 1978 at the Police
Department.
