The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held on
Sept. 30, 1976. Present were Hal Cline, Ken Yahn, Norwood
Cunningham, Chief Foster, Chief Skewes and Capt. Fronsdahl.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
A motion was made and seconded to not extend the Eligibility
List for Firefighter. Motion carried.
A motion was made and seconded to authorize the secretary and
chief examiner to proceed with an entrance examination for
Probationary Firefighter. Motion carried. A motion was made
and seconded to authorize the purchase of a book on questions
for the examination if necessary. Motion carried.
A motion was made and seconded that the secretary and -'Chief
Skewes are to work together on the written examination, to be
approved by the commission. Motion carried. 'A motion was
made and seconded that the weights on the firefighter exam be:
Written 25%, Oral Interview 40% and the Assessment Lab 35%;
and that the top 40 scorers on the written test will proceed to
the physical agility. In case of a tie, all persons scoring the
lowest score of the 40 will proceed. Those passing the physical
agility on a pass/fail basis will be .eligible for the Assessment
Lab. Those passing the assessment lab will proceed to an oral i
interview. Motion carried.
The eligibility lists for firefighter-mechanic and police clerk
have expired.
A motion was made and seconded that Chief Skewes and Mrs. Mauritsen
will suggest the questions for the essay portion of the law
enforcement officer exam, to be approved by the commission at a
special meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 5. Motion carried.
The next-meeting will be Thursday,;Oct. 28, at 8 A.M. in the
Fire Station.
