A meeting of ther.Civil Service Commission was held on April 1,
1976. Present were Hal Cline, Ken Yahn, Norwood Cunningham,
Chief McQuery, Chief Foster and Capt.. Fronsdahl.
A motion was made and seconded to amend the minutes of the
March 23rd meeting to include a sentence in the announcement
of the police chief vacancy to read: Candidates must meet or
exceed the following qualifications as of July 1, 1976.
Motion carried.
It was reported that the,commission members were polled by
phone to amend the minutes to read that there would be one
insert of the advertisement in each paper instead of three.
Chief foster gave some information on the assessment center
method of selecting candidates for a position. :There was
discussion of different types of tests.
A motion was made and seconded to defer a decision on the type
of test to be given until the commission can receive more
information on management and supervision type questions
from industry and local colleges for a possible written
exam. Motion carried.
The next meeting will be Thursday, April'8, at 4 P.M. in
._ either the 3rd floor conference room or Fire Station #1.
