HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Civil Services Commission - 02/19/1976 Feb. 19, 1976 The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held on Feb. 19 . Present were Hal Cline, Norwood Cunningham, Chief McQuery, Asst. Chief Berg, Officer Haysom and Fire Lt. Orndorff. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. A memo was received from Deputy Chief Freelove concerning the Firefighter applicants who did not return their score sheets from the physical agility. A letter was received from Asst. Chief Berg concerning the disciplinary action for Firefighter John Evans . A letter was received from Chief McQuery concerning the disciplinary action for Officer Ronald Anderman. The proposed amendment to RULE XV, Section 4 on page 28 was discussed. A motion was made and approved to amend the wording to read : Section 4. "GROUNDS FOR DISCHARGE, SUSPENSION, DEMOTION OR DEPRIVATION OF PRIVILEGES": The tenure of everyone holding an office, place, position or employment under the provisions of these Rules and Regulations shall be only during good behavior, and any such person may be removed or discharged, suspended without pay, demoted, or reduced in rank, or deprived of vacation privileges or other special privileges for any of the following reasons : The reasons are to remain the same as before . The secretary was directed to obtain copies of any ordinances of the city pertaining to the cavil service A motion was made and approved to extend the Eligibility List for Police Clerk for six months until August 1976 . A motion was made and approved to extend the Eligibility List for Firefighter Mechanic for six months from its expiration date in March to September 1976.
