The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held
on June 27, 1974. Present were Don Bell , Warren Bell , Hal
Cline, Chief Freelove and Chief McQuery.
The -minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
A letter of appeal was received from Officer Donald Fadden
from his one day suspension without pay . The secretary and
chief examiner presented her report of her investigation of
the incident leading to the suspension and her recommendation
that the commission uphold the suspension. A motion was
made and seconded to sustain the secretary' s recommendation.
Motion carried.
A motion was made and seconded to set a public hearing for
the purpose of hearing Officer Fadden' s appeal for July 18,
1974 in the City Council chambers at 8 A .M. Motion carried.
70 applications have been received for the probationary
firefighter examination set for July 9. A motion was made and
seconded that the top 20 scorers will be scheduled for the
physical agility test set for July 16 at the headquarters
fire station. The oral interviews are scheduled for July 22.
Oral interviews for the position of ASst . Chief will be held
on July 23 and for Fire Lieutenant on July 26.
The secretary and chief examiner passed out copies of the
proposed revisions of the Rules and Regulations to each
commission, member, each chief and the employee organizations.
They are to be reviewed by each and will be discussed at the
next meeting scheduled to be held on August 8 at 8 A.M.
