HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Committees - Civil Services Commission - 11/22/1972 Nov. 22, 1972 The regular meeting of the Police Civil Service Commission was held on Nov. 22. Present were Don Bell, Warren Bell, John MacGregor, Chief Mc Query. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. A letter from Thomas Wagoner was read requesting an exception from the veteran's preference rule. A motion was made and seconded to disallow the exception. Motion carried. A request from Steven Jenkins for credit on the patrolman exam for i year of Seattle Police Reserve training and experience was discussed. A motion was made and seconded to disallow the request. Motion carried. A motion was made and seconded to approve the Police Eligibility List as follows: 0(Brien Doll Quackenbush Bray Miller Miller Dunbar Wagoner Brion Kerns Wandrey Fisher Howell Jenkins Gallemore Motion carried. A motion was made and seconded to change Rule Vila, Section 4, (1) Sergeant to read as follows: "Must have served for a minimum of four years on the Kent Police Department as a commissioned officer." Motion carried. The Chief Examiner was instructed to send for 7 copies of the new Sergeant's exam put out by Public Personnel Asso. and to set a date Ror the exam. The Civil Service budget was discussed. G_IV cis- sere ry Chairman Nov. 22, 1972 The regular meeting of the Fire Civil Service Commission was held on Nov. 22. Present were Don Bell, Warren Bell, John MacGregor and Asst. Chief Randall. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Chief Examiner reported on the progress of the firefighter examinations. The Oral Interviews will be held on Nov. 27 and 28. The Civil Service Budget was discussed. Meeting adjourned.
