The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission for
Fire District #37 was held on March 28, 1972. Present
were Al Anderson, Ted Forrester and Chief Freelove.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
A motion was made and seconded to amend Rule XV by deleting
Sections 1 and 3 and amending Section 2, Vacations , to head:
Vacation leaves with pay shall be granted to all permanent
employees in the classified service. The rate of vacation
leave shall be set by the appointing authority. No
vacation shall be granted during the original entrance
probationary period. Vacations shall not be anticipated
and no unearned vacation with pay shall be granted.
Earned vacation shall not be accumulative in excess of
the annual rate, except that upon recommendation of the
appointing authority and with the approval of the secre-
tary-chief examiner, earned vacation may be accumulated
to a total of not more than twenty-four (24) work days.
In computing vacations, all municipal holidays shall be
deducted. The time at which employees shall take their
vacation shall be determined in each case by the super-
vising officer with due regard for the wished of the em-
ployee and particular regard for the needs of the service.
Motin carried.
A motion was made and seconded to amend Rule XIV Section
3, #10 to read: Consumption of intoxicating liquor
before reporting for duty or while on duty. Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded to amend Rule XV Section 6 to read:
The retirement age as set forth in LEFF Act. Mot;im carried.
Firefighter Fleming will take the 1st Class Examination on
April 20.
A motion was made and seconded to designate the Chief of
the Fire Department as suthorized agent for the Civil
Se rvice Commission to certify the department payroll.
Motion carried.
