• The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission was
held at the home of the Acting Secretary at 1: 30 P.M.
on Friday, April 12, 1963. Present were Chairman Don
Bell, Jr. , Harold Goedecke, and Chief Lee.
The results of the Lieutenant's examination were studied,
and it was decided to certify the Eligibility List as
follows:
1. Sgt. Dave McQuery 90.764
2. Sgt. Gerald Grant 87.826
3. Sgt. H. R. Foxley 86.175
The Commission approved the Certification of Sgt. Dave
McQuery as the new Lieutenant, effective on May 1, 1963.
This will create a vacancy in the rank of Sergeant. The
Commission approved the Certification of Patrolman John
Sheets as the new Sergeant, effective on May 1, 1963
The examination for the position of Secretary and Chief
Examiner was discussed and arrangements are being Made to
•, complete this before May 1, 1963.
A discussion of possible budgeting for the Police Department
for 1964 was held. The members are agreed that this is
a little early, but they should be thinking about this
before time for the preliminary budget.
