The meeting was called to order by Mr. Kelleher. Mrs. Bovell and Norman Anderson
were present. The reading of the previous minutes were read and approved.
An answer was received from the Chicago Police Department in regard to Mr. Gordon
Van Brunt's references. Vie were advised that they have no record of Mr. Van
Brunt's employment with their department at any time in any capacity. The
secretary of the Civil Service Commission called Mr. Van Brunt up for an interview.
He was at a loss to explain this answer and mahtained that he did work there
between the years, 1931 through 1938. We asked Mr. Van Brunt to correspond c,
immediately with the Chicago Police Department and/or anyone in Chicago that could
help him get verification of his employment. He asked us if we had contacted the
Boeing Aiiplane Company and Bethlehem Steel, where he had worked as a guard. We
told him no, as his experience rating of 15 per:cent on the final analysis of the
March examination was given him because of his asserted work with the Chicago
Police Departembnt. Mr. Van Brunt said that he would write and try.:and clear this
matter up.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
