A special meeting of the Civil Service Commission was called
to order by Chairman Farman, in the Council Chamber of the
City Hall, at 11.:20 P.M.
Commissioners present were: Chairman Farman, Edline, Sells.
Mayor Mooney was also present at this meeting.
The results of the examination for Patrolmen were reported,
a.nd given orally to the Mayor, as follows:
James 0. Allread - 88
Cebert N. Coomes - 76
Russell A. Houga.rdy - 74
Dominick Nello - 72
Louis F. Hughes - 71
It was recommended that the record of Russell A. Hougardy be
checked as to D11ce and character records before any appoint-
ment be recommended in his case.
The entire Commission then announced their resignation, to be
in effect as of January 29, 1948.
At this point, Mayor Mooney retired from the meeting. The
results of the examination for the office of the Chief of
Police, held ,Just previous to this meeting, were then
presented by the Chief Examiner; said results being as
follows :
James A. Hanson - 77
Daniel Scribner - 76
Robert E.Lee - 76
Cebert V. Ioomes- 66
William H. Freeman - 61 (Mr. Freeman ineligible - age 48)
The Chief Examiner was instructed to present the report to the
incoming Commission at such time that it receives its power to
function.
The meeting adjourned at 12:30 A.M.
