Woods 1 CITY OF VENT LEGAL DEPARTMENT Memorandum TO: Civil Service Commission From: Roger A. Lubovich, City Attorne ;; 88: Civil Service Rules—Review and Rev sion 0819: April 23, 2001 My records indicate that the current Civil Service rules were adopted on June 10, 1975. Although there have been subsequent amendments to various provisions of the rules, there has not been a comprehensive review of the rules for some time. I propose that the Civil Service Commission authorize a comprehensive review of the rules to ensure they are consistent with current case law and with the provisions of current labor agreements. I also propose that the Civil Service secretary, in conjunction with Employee Services and myself, conduct this review and solicit comments and input from the affected unions. I do not anticipate major changes, but rather minor modifications to update the rules for more effective processing of Civil Service procedures. Following this review, a proposal will be submitted to the commission for consideration.
