II. REASON AND BACKGROUND FOR CHANGE The 302 local operators union went on strike on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. The strike ended on September 7, 2018, 12 working days after the strike began. WSDOT Standard Specification Section 1-08.8 states the authorized time for Physical Completion will be extended in the event of a delay of work due to strikes. The work on this project was delayed for the full duration of the strike. This is a no cost change. III. The strike began on August 21"t, 2018 and is ongoing. The strike has impacted the sidewalk and curb ramp demolition which are critical items of work. Scarsella had initially planned to perform the saw cutting in preparation for the demolition but decided that there was no benefit to the project in doing so.
