Though identified in the contract plans and specifications, a pay item for"Removing Existing Storm Sewer Pipe" was not included in the contract's bid schedule for the contractor to provide pricing at bid time. It is understood that this compensation is payment for crew time (labor and equipment), trucking, and dump fees associated with the scope of work. Given this work is clearly identified on the contract plans and was always required to be performed by the contractor, it is not added scope of work. As a result, additional working days will not be granted in conjunction with the acceptance of the proposed pricing. Please let me know if there are any questions, or if any additional discussion is required.
