Dear Brian:
Just wanted to touch base about budget and to see if you received what you expected!or Kogan
Park.We appreciate the work and hope to do more in the future.A while bark t mentioned to you
that the.proi ect took longer than anticipated. Our field time was over by 13,5 hours end the CALL
time was 10 hours over as well.I usually anticipate the complexity of a project however I didn't
realize the detail around the Melds, the detail by the concession areas, thenmuber ofmanholes and
catch basin(52)and the amount of underground utilities. When proposing on this prod act I saws
large park, mostly open, and being a relatively easy suvey.'We always try to do thinks the most
efficient way in ordarto save budget and at the same time produce a quality product. One of our
cost Saving ideas was to use a Otte person crew as much as possible. We used this approach for two
days;oneperson using QPS and the other using robotic Total Station.Once we got into the detail
part ofthe survey,we went back to a rdore trarvonal 2 man crew..Fat this project we gathered
over 5900 paints: -
We always prefer to leave budget on the table and but 5omet mes that doostt'f happen as was the
caseforI-Icganpark,I attribtrtethe budgetvloes mostly on themamber of stormand sewer as-halt,
both field and of5ce,'Ihe udlit;J locate service budget was estimated on 8 hears end it took 20
hours.I had no ideatbere were that many buried uffiites associated with this park,For labor only
we are over budget193Q.00.For the utility locate service I estimated$560.00 and it came in at
$I600.QO pr$1040.00 over the esthnated cost. Since we only give au approximate£ee for locate
service and statethat wewll bi]I the clientbased on lre invoice withno markwe will submttthat
