Currently,S.228th Street is 44anes wide,approximately 46 feet in width with separate left-turn pockets at the intersections. The
Union Pacific railroad trucks cross the read at grade. The UP has one mainline track crossing the road. Sidewalks Wst in some
locations predominantly on the south side of the road. No bike lanes exist in the vicinity. Driveways to businesses connect to the
roadway in several locations.
Description of Proposed Work

The project will provide a grade separation between the UPRR tracks at S.228tb Street via an over-crossing.The railroad will
operate at the existing track grade,and the roadbed for S.228th Street will be constructed over the rails. To accommodate the
over-crossing,associated improvements will include driveway improvements for the access to adjacent businesses,concrete
curbs,gutters,and sidewalks,storm drainage improvements,goo-grid reinforced block walls,and new lighting.The project will
be constructed in phases,the fast phase will allow for the construction of the center pier drilled shafts to accommodate a

Environmental Considerations
Wetlands exist in the roadway ditches north and south of the roadway. No titling of wetlands is anticipated to occur as a result of
this project. Noise and air quality will be addressed in the BA and may be affected due to an increase in traffic,although the
reduction in traffic delays at the tacks and the associated train noise may decrease the noise and air impacts.

Description of Utility Relocation or Adjustments and Brisling Major Structures Involved in the Project '
At the UP crossing,there are various anderground utilities that will need to be Mounted. These include fiber optic
lines,water,gas and storm sewer mains. Coordination with PSE regarding their overhead power lines will require
temporary relocation of some feeder lines for the installation of the bridge shafts,and eventual permanent relocation
of main transmission lines for the installation of the bridge,
