Purpose of Memorandum of Agreement:
The purpose of this Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Kent Corrections
Facility (CKCF) and the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center (KCSARC) is to
create a cooperative relationship to address the needs of victims of sexual assault
within the City of Kent's correctional facility in accordance with the Prison Rape
Elimination Act (PREA) and Standard 115.53.
KCSARC will provide the following for the term st
ated in this Memorandum of {
Agreement:
1. Provide training to CKCF staff, as the CKCF may request, in furtherance of
Standard 115.53 of the PREA and inmate access to outside confidential
support services;
2. Supply support materials for CKCF to provide to inmates, regardless of
whether a referral to KCSARC is made by CKCF or sought by an inmate

3. Be available for consultation as needed with CKCF designated PREA staff
member(s) via the 24-hour Resource Line, or through KCSARC's Deputy
Executive Director at 425-226-5062
4. ( Be available to CKCF inmates to provide emotional support services
i
related to sexual abuse via the 24-hour Resource Line: -888-99VOZCE I
(1-888-998-6423); and I

S. Be available for continued discussion with CKCF on how inmates affected
by sexual abuse may be further served through assistance provided by
� KCSARC's Deputy Executive Director at 425-226-5062;

CKCF will provide the following`for the term stated in this Memorandum of Agreement:
1. Provide consultation and/or training to KCSARC regarding CKCF's inmate
population and any identified-needs, if requested;
2. Work in cooperation with KCSARC, as needed, to create training agendas
to meet the needs of CKCF staff and inmates under the PREA; and
3. Create information packets for inmates that will include in about
sexual abuse and how to access service from KCSARC or other outside
victim advocates for emotional support services, in as confidential a
manner as possibl
e.

Compensation: KCSARC is a non-profit corporation that has provided sexual assault
advocacy services within King County since 1976. KCSARC's 'advocacy services are
provided to abuse survivors free of charge. KCSARC will not charge CKCF for the
services, ' resources materials,1 and consultation described in this Memorandum of
Agreement.
Duration: The term of this Memorandum of Agreement is from June 1, 2015, and
December 31, 2018, unless terminated earlier by either party upon thirty (30) days
advance written notice.
