Amendment Description:
In response to a request from the Project Sponsor, the Project Agreement is amended to Increase the scope of
work to Include the acquisition and associated incidental costs for the 71-acre Schulte property located at Clark
Lake With the availability of additional Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program funds, the Project Agreement
Is amended to increase the grant amount by$144,880 for a total grant of$270,000 for this partially funded project
$144,316 41 Is from the 2009-11 biennium and $563 59 Is from the 2011-13 biennium

Agreement Description
The City of Kent will use this grant to acquire approximately 1 61 acres of property that will likely be used as a parking
lot, picnic area and passive recreation open space serving Clark Lake Park The properties are located in the 133 acre
Clark Lake Park, located within the City of Kent off of 248th street in south King County By acquiring the properties the
City will have the upland property needed for the proposed future development allowing the middle of the eventual 167
acre park to be as natural as possible The primary recreation opportunity provided by the protect will be for passive
recreation opportunities

SUBJECT: Recreation and Conservation Office Grant Amendment - Authorize
MOTION: Move to authorize the Mayor to sign the Recreation and
Conservation Office grant amendment to receive $144,880.00 in funds to
reimburse the land acquisition budget for the Clark Lake Assemblage.
SUMMARY: The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) Washington Wildlife and
Recreation Program awarded the city $144,880.00 in additional funds to reimburse
the purchase the Schulte property. This .71 acre site will be included in the Clark
Lake Assemblage. The grant will be matched by a King County Conservation Futures
grant that was already awarded.
